Day four and I am already opening by myself.  Go, me!

Today was...rough.  School field trips.  Need I say more?  How about 240 bag lunches?  How about ridiculously priviledged Christian private school students? (I am not anti-Christian, but I have worked food service long enough that I cringe when I see buses with crosses on them.  They are almost always the worst.  And what they do to bathrooms....)  AND their teachers...oy.

Tomorrow is 11-2, which is a total waste of lip gloss...but hours are hours, and I am off Saturday and Sunday.  Yay!  Then another 11-2 Monday, and the Duran Duran concert!  Double yay!

ANNNNND, I sold the M:tG cards that weren't worth Kent's time to list individually on Craigslist, which gets them out of the house AND nets me some money for merch at the concert.  I am really happy, because the buyer is getting it as a surprise for her sister and she seems super excited.

And I want to pat myself on the back a bit, because the buyer asked if the price posted was as low as I could go, and I gave her the price I actually wanted.  So, I sold them for what I had hoped for AND got to do the dance of "don't tell ME how to sell stuff" for Kent.

Of course, the minute I started typing the response email, someone asked if the cards were still available for the posting price.

*sigh*  I'm hoping the fact that I was a good person (and didn't score another $25 due to my conscience) means that the rug I am trying to sell moves soon, too.

Since we're closed Sunday, I also got Saturday off.  I intend to spend the weekend in my pjs, popping Advil (isn't starting your period the same week you start a new job against the Geneva Convention?), eating homemade pizza, and catching up on mindless television.  Yay!

You work in a nightmare. I feel for you. Way to go on the selling! I too, often make Karmic rationalizations like that. I think they work out.

And I used to work food industry, and yeah, those youth groups were rude and bad tippers. But they weren't the only ones. I maintain only other service industry people make the best customers.

Have a good weekend!

I'm with you on food service people being the best tippers. Hey, we know what it's like.

And you can almost always tell who we are, because we're the ones who try to bus our own tables. :)

My Mom worked for a Catholic high school for about the last 10 years of her life and surprisingly, for a non-Catholic (and basically apathetic toward religion of any type) person, loved it. She did have to stop making her favorite joke at the beginning of the school year, though...

Mom - Just so you know, I can be bought. You'll earn an A in my class for $1,000,000

Student - whips out black card, asks if she'll take credit.

Mom - Bwah?!

Student - Ehhh, Dad owns his own island. ::shrug::

This was in Waco! ::boggle::

periods NEVER seem to cooperate in their timing.

i saw an article that said that christians thought that their children were the most kind and generous of all children, being christian and all. when reality proved they were actually less kind or generous than all of their non-christian student peers. parents didnt realize they'd been raised with all their parents prejudices and were far more nasty about it. because parents were always right, yeah?... parents dont realize that "do as i say, not as i do"... doesnt work. and it works even worse in extremes.

I had to look up what M:tG meant. Yay for making sales! I need to list some more stuff on eBay.

Enjoy the weekend - and the concert!

I had forgotten how much sweeter weekends are when they actually MEAN something. ;) The plans are minimal, but they DO involve hair dye (gotta look good for the concert. And working under harsh lighting has made it VERY obvious how bad my roots are), mindless television, and vodka.

I'm channeling my inner Patsy. ;)

Love your userpic. Looks a lot like our youngest cat, Geiger (see userpic). This was taken when he was a kitten, he's darkened up considerably since, more like your userpic.
