April is the cruelest month

Especially if you're my noggin.

Whacked my head GOOD at work today (I saw stars), three days short of the anniversary of my getting hit by a truck.

Before everyone goes bonkers, yes, I filed a report.  And I'm probably going to HR over the assistant manager who, when I told him, was dismissive in the extreme (this is the same dude who told me "welcome to the biz" last Friday).

This is just fucking ridiculous.  But it's paying the bills while I look for something else.  AND Kent has an interview on Thursday for a job that looks *really* promising.  *fingers crossed*  I'd feel better about rocking the boat if I wasn't the sole paycheck coming in.  We'll see.

I'd been home for a while when Santa Pete called.  He's been having serious issues with his skin since last week:  burning, itching, aching until he says he feels like he just wants to peel it off.  He FINALLY got in to see his dermatologist, and called us on the way to the hospital.  He's being checked in for a few days' observation.  He sounded so miserable on the phone; partically in tears.  I'm glad he'll (hopefully) be getting some answers....but I'm worried.  :(

I really hope tomorrow is better.

On the up side, the dull ache still in my head seems to have pulled focus from my sore feet. ;P

Hope Santa Pete is OK! Sounds like bad shingles???

I had initially wondered diabetic nerve pain, but shingles DOES seem more likely. That's the way my grandpa described it. :(

I've only whacked my noggin twice in my culinary career, and neither time was at all pleasant. When I was still in culinary school, one of the stupid kids in my class put a 10 pound mixing bowl (for one of the larger mixers) on an upper shelf instead of a bottom one. It slipped off and hit me square in the head. I saw stars (and the nurse's office) for hours. The other time, an idiot in the freezer hid a full bucket of icing on top of a box I needed on the top shelf. I saw the box, not the bucket. That one hit me in the face, bloodied my nose, and split my lip. I was so damn furious. I hope that you've recovered from your ordeal -- and I'm glad you put in a work report!

I thought you were going to file a report with HR last week!
File it -- get a paper trail going on this assistant manager NOW!
