91.95 hours

Jaysus, no WONDER I feel like all I do is work and sleep and my laundry consists solely of scrubs and pjs.  Yeesh.

But, oh...Alan Cumming, I am heading for your merch booth in 20 days.  Be prepared.  ;)

This will be the spousebeast's final paycheck from Hapy Acres (I think).  I will just be looking at the bottom line (not hours) for 2 weeks, but I think I will have finally won.  Actually, I may win on hours and overall money earned and no, I am not sick, twisted, and horribly competitive.

I'm kind of loving this training schedule for Kent at the moment.  He has to learn to open AND close.  I miss him and I hate to go to bed alone, but he is on a "must be productive" jag.  If you have to go to work at 4pm, you can't sit around, have a couple of beers, listen to Alice Cooper and play Hearthstone (well, at least not until you've made your 90 days and then...restaurant industry).  Kent's not a big television person.  He tends to not read until he gets on the bus, because he has been known to get engrossed and be late if he reads at home.

So he cleans.  The bathroom, no.  And he doesn't tackle the spiderwebs around the...upper baseboards (?Whatever you call the baseboard stuff around the ceiling) because of the whole height issue.  But...damn.  Is this what it feels like to have a "wife"?

And he's a damn sight better than I am, in certain respects.  He actually puts away clean laundry and dishes.

I'll enjoy it while it lasts.

I heard from the boys' stepmom, and it seems like this is needles week.  The youngest tried acupuncture for his insomnia, and it seems to be working.  The oldest got a new tattoo, and it doesn't look like cover art for a Viking death metal band for once (although I love that he has the protective rune I embroidered into his baby quilt on his arm.  I never mentioned it, and there it is.  Face it, child.  I am your mother and you will never be shed of me).

Is it weird that Liam getting another tattoo was fine, but Ashe and acupuncture made me a little flinch-y?  I guess it might because I know from tattoos.  Acupuncture, no.  Hey, but if it works, it works.

And Alicia's Carrboro moment of the week: I actually got out on time today, managed to get the J, and decided to ride all the way to Carrboro since I was going to miss Kent anyway.  I went to Krave, flirted with Cute Gay Hogwarts Uniform Wearing Bartender--now with Light-Up Bunny Ears!--mostly finished my LJI entry at the Cybrary, and was waiting at the bus stop when I was approached by a man holding a shallow wooden dish.  I was digging in my pockets for whatever change was left from my Krave excursion when he pressed it into my hands.

"This told me to be with you.  Please accept it."

And I did.  It looks like a perfect offering bowl for an altar much bigger than any of the ones I have.  A sign of abundance?

This is not the first time something like this has happened to me in Carrboro.  It is usually accompanied by a big ol' Cosmic slap upside the head.  And this is the time of year it usually starts.  It's like this area turns into DeLint's Newford the minute the wind gets warmer.

I keep touching the bowl, like I'm..trying to get it give up its secret  There's gotta be a reason.

One final note, because I think it is a legitimate question:

what kind of woman gets bouncyhappy when tissues are on clearance for 75 cents (they quit working when there are new designs on the boxes, ya know) amd comes home to a bunch of cds consisting mostly of Lady Gaga, The Monkees, and Mailiyn Manson and is equally overjoyed?

Asking for a friend.

Ahaha I got giddy a few months ago when I found Clorox cleaning wipes on clearance for $0.10 a pack of THREE. High five!

*laughing* I am trying to track down DeLint's stories, and since most are out of print, it has been difficult going. I read them long ago, from a library in Germany, and now I want to wallow around in Newford again.

Acupuncture is wonderful if you have a good practitioner. It won't fix everything - but what it works for, it works wonders.

I am a big advocate of "whatever works." I'm just happy the kid is getting sleep!

I'm a little curious about it now, because he said that by the third needle, he felt "something shift inside."

I'm guessing it won't fix my bad attitude about late coworkers, though. ;)

It's usually called crown molding and some can be quite plain while other is very ornate (the ceiling baseboardy thing)

I swear by acupuncture. It can give me relief when nothing else comes close. And no, you don't feel the needles at all.

congrats on your new bowl. I hope you both have a long and peaceful life together.

As for your question - probably the same sort of woman who get excited when she gets an 11th piece of something in a 10-count package. Nothing wrong with simple pleasures.

Thank you! I *knew* there was a word for it and my brain just wasn't giving it up.

I'm the same way with that extra piece. I bought a single serving bag of those candy coated Cadbury eggs the other day. 16 eggs instead of 15! Whee!!!!

And I still didn't share with Kent.

No worries. I find that to be my situation more and more these days. Yay, menopause...

Good woman!

The bowl made me smile. How lovely. Maybe you need to have a big bowl to welcome in abundance and happiness?

Your laundry sounds like my laundry, only mine is pjs and kitchen whites/chef pants. Ugh.

That offering bowl sounds so damn cool, not to mention how you acquired it! I hope it gives up its secrets soon! :)

Is that for 1 week or 2? Workweeks like that aren't for the faint of heart. But you have made the effort to ensure it. And for that, I salute you.

Are you planning on going over to DreamWidth? If so, what is your account name? Mine is the same as on here.
