Half price Easter candy, hair dye, Visine, and enough allergy meds to open my own meth lab.
I kid y'all not. We have this same conversation the Monday after Easter. Every. Fucking. Year.
He forgets how expensive it is for me to breathe this time of year. Well, and look good while I do it. ;)
Nice day yesterday. I got out of the house AND out of my head for a while. I told Kent I was going on a grocery run, because the sales change on Wednesday (huge nerd. Huge, huge nerd. I know) and I wanted to get the Harris Teeter meal deal. He gave me an indulgent, mildly amused look until I said, "Well, it's $7.99, and you a Stouffer's frozen lasagne, and..."
At which point he pretty much yelled "Take my money!" and hurled the debit card at me. Okay, not really. But I honestly think the man's devotion to frozen lasagne may rival his devotion to me. I'm fine with that, because he now has a family size lasagne (going price: $7.39. So everything else was 60 cents) and I have frozen garlic bread and a bag of bacon Caesar salad mix . And a half gallon of mango green tea. Guess who is not cooking for a couple of days?
(Total lie. I have to eat the salad, because that stuff goes bad FAST. But, as the weather gets warmer, I CRAVE salad, so that's not a chore.)
I love grocery shopping. It's weird, I know.
What I love even more is buying concert tickets. After I stowed my treasures, I was heading to to Carrboro and Kent suggested stopping by Schoolkids Records (formerly CD Alley).
We now have tickets to see X. Again, 15 year old me is saying "Seriously? You get to do this when you're old?"
Hey, at least I can dress all punk rock slutty and NOT have grandpa ask me where the rest of my outfit is.
And my hair will be purple! Yay!
I think I'm having a weird identity shift re: hair. I was born a redhead. I have done my best to maintain it.
This is the second round where I've dyed it purple. And I had it cut not too terribly long ago. While it is still long(ish), this is a pretty big change for me. And I am really, really happy with it.
I can't wait until the insurance kicks in and I can get new glasses. I am going to start looking for old frames sturdy enough to handle new lenses. I really want some old school cats eye frames.
And...I had a thought. But the lack of sleep has gotten to me.

good luck with new eye glasses. i can totally see you in cats-eye frames.
They also come with a nifty, beaded glasses chain. Seriously tempted.
Your hair sounds great too!
Half off Easter candy is always the best.
