Why do I clean the bathroom THEN decide to dye my hair?  *facepalm*

Also, Splat! dye lives up to its name.  Go to rinse it out and splat! it goes all over the shower.  It was like the shower scene from Psycho, only purple.

It's still damp (don't own a hairdryer), so no word on how the color took.  I will update (hopefully with pictures) later.  I BETTER not have wasted thirteen bucks and an hour of my life.

As far as personal grooming goes, this is about as high maintenance as I get.  It better be worth it.

In other news, The Bookshop on Franklin St. closed.  I hate seeing any used bookstore close, but they *were* hideously overpriced.  Okay, and I still harbor some animosity that they told me they hired someone "more qualified" who turned out to be someones booger eating cousin who flunked out of UNC, but I digress...

So, major blowout sale this weekend (and they STILL tried to overcharge me.  I'm sorry, but signs that read "70% off over $20"  carries with it the implication that that is the total purchase, NOT books over $20.  Especially when all previous discounts have been off the total of your purchase ).  I bought a couple of things, then noticed the sign: "Sunday and Monday:  all remaining stock free.  Bring your own bags."

It was a fucking madhouse.  I fought my clausterphobia/fear of crowds as long as I could and came away with a niiiiice pile of cookbooks and writing about life in the food service industry.  Which I then got the schlep home.  In 90F heat.  With no Sunday bus service.

(Have I mentioned recently how much it pisses me off that we have no Sunday bus service when the students aren't here?  Grrrr....)

If nothing else, doing transfers for 275lb residents on a regular basis turns carrying 18 hardcover books into child's play.

Speaking of, time to find out what went horribly, horribly wrong on my weekend off.  And possibly hit that bookstore one last time on my way home.

I know.  I know.  But it's just cookbooks, and I can stop any time I want.  ;P

I too have a bad cookbook habit. they're like crack.

My hairdresser tested out some splat in my hair when we did the rainbow stripes. It lasted longer than any of the high dollar stuff did, a year or longer. Even when we colored over it, that splat showed through. Hopefully yours will last as well.

You know what gets hair dye stains out of porcelain, like if you have a porcelain bath tub? WD-40

LOL, my daughter used to dye her hair in the bathroom after I cleaned it. Yeah. I'd always tell her to clean it up, but I'd go back in there and it'd still look like shit! Of course, by then, she'd be out of the house and long gone. I feel your pain. But yeah, post pics when it's dry. You sound like me, I don't own a hair dryer, either. Bad for the hair.

I'd love to buy more books, but we simply do not have the room. This old house just SUCKS for storage. In hindsight, how I picked this ol' money pit of a house in the first place boggles my mind. How I wish I could do that over again....

Yep! They might be rare in the off-season, but I still can find it in Rite Aid and Hot Topic. :)

It makes me sad when used book stores close. Our local, one is still going strong, but half price books is kinda losing points with me.

It's Murphy's Law on the hair dye. I have brown, and why does my platinum, show brown on my walls?

That book is on my want list. Space be damned! I don't need a WHOLE linen closet!
