I may yet live

I think I have survived The Kindegarten Krud (tm).  Still coughing, but no more fever and I can breathe through my nose again.  Kent can quit bringing home the germs any day now.

We had the weekend off together!  Whee!  Ordered in food, listened to the new Iggy and Alice albums, made yummy adult beverages, and got the cops called on us (there is a difference between domestic violence and domestic bliss, kids.  Learn it, or you are going to be calling CHPD every week and they are getting *really* tired of me answering the door in my scroungy blue bathrobe with flushed cheeks and a goofy grin).  Now I'm listening to Leonard Cohen through headphones while he watches his hopes of winning his FF match this week fade away.

The Bristol Vixens, otoh, have sewn this one up   My unfortunate adversary has run his entire team...and I'm up by 30 points.  With three players left to go.  So that's three for three for "The Girl."

(Criticize my feminist, queer fabulous, Lady Gaga and Tim Gunn, rainbow heavy, RuPaul quoting, unicorn and hedgehog homepage?  I *am* taking your ass down.  With sparkles)

Still trying to decide on my outfit for the Psychedelic Furs this week.  13 year old me wants to grab a box of red hair dye and blow my allowance at the thrift shop...but I am trying to be an adult here.

And we all know how THAT usually works out.

Much as I need the hours, I'm kinda happy that I'm off W-F.  I have concert prep day, concert recovery day, and pick up check and gird my loins for working the weekend day.  And I have to go grocery shopping somewhere in there.  I'm not entirely sure how we managed to run out of garlic, coffee, laundry soap and peanut butter all at the same time, but we did.

At least all of the work clothes for the week are washed.  And Kent can steal coffee from the teachers lounge (although is it REALLY stealing if you make it?).  I'm not sure if I can make it until Friday without peanut butter, though.

Have a good week, y'all.  There WILL be a concert review after I finish swooning.

P.S.  Keep me in good thought.  I just got a call to inform me that we have a new resident who requires total care (which we are NOT.  That bitch just wants to fill beds, and doesn't care that we don't have the people OR equiptment to deal with cases like this.  Or that we aren't technically supposed to) and is 342 lbs, combative, and blind.  Tomorrow should be fun.

although is it REALLY stealing if you make it?

Heck no! I say this as one of the people who, when I've worked in offices, was one of those who made sure to make it. (And I want to say to those who don't bother to make it, "It's not hard!")

I hope those kids learn quickly to recognize what they're hearing. *grins also*

i'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that you like music a little bit.

i like music but i'm quite literally tone deaf and i'm sure i can't appreciate it on the level that you and many others can.

I live in a big music nerd household. The spousebeast and I skimp on a lot of things (no car, no cell phones, don't eat out or go to movies all that often), but we will eat all our meals at work and squeeze the last miniscule bit out of the toothpaste if there is a show we need to see. And I am thankful, because we have seen some amazing performers.

This show is all for me, though. Kent's been looking up their music online and recognizes a few songs....but he's mostly going to make 13 year old me happy.

Glad to hear you're beginning to feel better! I continue to send get well vibes your way! I don't have any stuffiness or runny nose any more either, but I have to be careful with the coughing as I've had bronchitis about seven to eight times now.

I hope you have a good time at the concert!

I wish you loads of luck with the new resident
